Targeted Treatments for Pigmentation and Vascular Concerns

The GentleMax Pro® by Candela is an advanced dual-wavelength laser system trusted by dermatologists for safe, effective treatment of pigmentation and vascular concerns. Combining both the 755 nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, GentleMax Pro® offers precise, targeted results for a wide range of skin types. While well-known for laser hair removal, GentleMax Pro® is also highly effective for treating sunspots, freckles, leg veins, venous lakes, and stubborn pigmented lesions. Its Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD) ensures comfort and skin protection throughout every treatment.

How does GentleMax Pro® work?

755 nm Alexandrite Laser (Pigmentation Treatment)

  • Precisely targets melanin (skin pigment) to break up sunspots, freckles, café-au-lait marks, and some post-inflammatory pigmentation.

  • Especially effective for lighter skin types (Fitzpatrick I–III).

  • Delivers rapid, focused energy with minimal risk to surrounding skin.

1064 nm Nd:YAG Laser (Vascular Lesion Treatment)

  • Penetrates deeper to target blood vessels and vascular lesions by focusing on oxyhaemoglobin.

  • Ideal for leg veins, venous lakes, cherry angiomas, spider veins, and deeper blue or purple facial vessels.

  • Safe for most skin types, including darker tones.

What can GentleMax Pro® treat?

Pigmentation (755 nm):

  • Sunspots (solar lentigines)

  • Freckles (ephelides)

  • Café-au-lait macules

  • Some seborrhoeic keratoses

  • Residual post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (with caution)

Vascular Lesions (1064 nm):

  • Leg veins and spider veins

  • Venous lakes (lips, ears)

  • Blue or purple vessels

  • Facial telangiectasia not responsive to other lasers

  • Cherry angiomas

What to expect during GentleMax Pro® laser treatment

  • Sessions typically last 10–30 minutes, depending on the area.

  • The Dynamic Cooling Device™ provides a protective cooling mist before each laser pulse for added comfort.

  • Most patients experience a quick, warm snap sensation.

  • Mild redness or swelling is common and usually settles within hours to a few days.

  • Pigmented spots may darken and flake off over 7–10 days.

  • Vascular lesions may darken, then gradually fade over 2–6 weeks.

How many treatments will i need?

  • Pigmentation: Usually 1–3 sessions.

  • Leg veins and vascular lesions: 2–4+ sessions, spaced 6–8 weeks apart.

Dr Liz will tailor a personalised GentleMax Pro® treatment plan for your skin type and goals.

Safety & suitability

  • Pigment treatments are safest when skin is untanned and in lighter skin types to minimise the risk of pigment changes.

  • Nd:YAG laser is suitable for most skin types, including darker complexions, for vascular concerns.

  • Risks are rare but may include temporary pigment changes, mild blistering, or bruising—minimised by expert technique and the built-in cooling system.
