How can Rosacea be treated?

Rosacea can be treated with topical creams and gels including antibiotics, azelaic acid, retinoids and sulphur. For more severe cases oral antibiotics may be required. These usually need to be taken for over 3 months.  For redness, treatment with a vascular laser can be effective.

General skin care measures are also important in rosacea. These include sunscreen, a mild non-alkali soap and avoidance of triggers (see above).
