| Acne is a very common condition that affects up to 85% of teenagers. Acne includes comedones (white and black heads), pustules (pimples) and cysts. When severe or if picking occurs then this can result in scarring. Acne can occur not just on the face but also on the chest and back and rarely in the buttock area. Acne usually clears by the early twenties but can persist longer. Treatment is often needed during this time and this can include topical creams, oral antibiotics and hormone therapies and also oral isotretinoin. |
